Generation E-X-it

Stumblestep around your father's Model T.
Trip upon the wooden plank
leading to the door.
Brush the dusty roadside powder
off your brand new suit.
And conjure up excuses
that'll get you off the hook.

Papa calls you vagabond
and says you lack direction.

But since the Great War's ended
how can he expect you
to settle down
and fall into the same routine?

Life is for the living
and sweatshops aren't quite as fun
as watching Mildred dance
and drinking bootleg whiskey
till you can barely stand.
