DW: What if they carried in only the seeds? I'm no Luther Burbank, but it seems the climate here is mild enough to sprout from seeds. Do they really need fertilizer? If all they need are the seeds, then a few backpacks could carry those. I'm wondering if they were pulling water from somewhere, somehow.
